The “BullWhip” Saw:
Jim Hoff,
Lumber Jack / heavy equipment operator, a friend of mine
from the Queen Charlotte Islands (Canada) gave me a
number of these rare “Whip” saws. Traditionally used in
logging and lumber mills they suffered the ravages of
time and have lost their wooden handles. The Bull Horns
that have replaced them bring together pieces of our
past from logging and cattle ranching.

Display Spiral:
The Ram Spiral shown was originally conceived
as a chair leg for the Excalibur Chair ( in
progress section). The Sword and Dagger were designed
and made by Kevin to honor his Scottish/Irish heritage;
Clan: Gunn, Family: Swanson. |

The Samurai:
For a Martial Artist, the sword has always been the
epitome of Form following Function for me. The “Stick
Kantana” dates to a time when the samurai were being
forbidden to carry their swords in Japan. Their
innovative solution was the “stick Kantana”. The war
helmet of the samurai has been adorned with horns, among
other things, to impose a forbidding image in battle.
“The Samurai” is a striking concept piece created to
honor these two traditions. |

Long Horn Wall Mounts:
Traditionally, heavy wood and leather bolsters
are used for Long Horn Mounts. DHD uses a lightweight
formed Polyurethane Bolster thereby allowing them to be
mounted almost anywhere without special hardware.
